The Tasmanian Nepalese Cricket Association (TNCA) honoured to announce that our President, Mr. Kamal Bhandari, has been awarded the 2025 Sports in the Community Award at the prestigious Tasmanian Young Achiever Awards, proudly sponsored by Raw Strength Tasmania.

This recognition is a tribute to Kamal’s extraordinary dedication and the profound impact he has made through grassroots, women’s, and community cricket. As the driving force behind countless initiatives, Kamal has continuously championed inclusivity, cultural harmony, and empowerment through sport. From organising coaching clinics and building sustainable cricket programs to developing pathways for women’s cricket—Kamal has made it his mission to ensure everyone has a place on the field.
Under his leadership, TNCA has empowered over 50 female participants, many of whom had never held a bat before. His contributions have extended beyond the boundary rope, generating more than $100,000 annually in local economic impact through cricket tournaments, sponsorships, and community initiatives.

This isn’t Kamal’s first recognition—he was also named Cricket Tasmania’s Volunteer of the Year 2023, a testament to his commitment, vision, and ability to inspire those around him. Through his tireless work, Kamal has broken barriers and built a thriving, inclusive cricketing culture that brings together youth, underrepresented communities, and diverse families across Tasmania.
As we celebrate this milestone, TNCA extends heartfelt congratulations to Kamal Bhandari. His award belongs not just to him, but to every player, volunteer, and supporter who believes in the power of cricket to unite and uplift.
Kamal, your leadership continues to inspire a generation—and we are honoured to have you lead the way.
